UVUV is a nonprofit UV-safety app Nabee Studio made with students. It combines the live UV where you're standing, your skin type, and the SPF you're wearing, and tells you roughly how many minutes you have before you burn. It started as a web app anyone could open instantly, moved to a native iOS app, and has reached people in 48 countries.

The problem

UV index numbers are easy to find and hard to act on. A 7 on a weather app doesn't tell anyone how long they can stay outside.

The goal was public good, not revenue: a tool that turns sun-safety advice into one number a person can act on, built together with students.

What we built

A small, focused product that answers one question well, on the web and on iPhone.

Live UV data for the place you're standing.
Your skin type and the SPF you're wearing, factored in.
A personal countdown: roughly how many minutes until you burn.
A web app first, so anyone could use it instantly with nothing to install.
Then a native iOS app on the App Store.

One team at Nabee owned the whole arc, from idea and strategy through brand, design, build, and ship, with no account managers or middle layers.
